The Human Resources Manager is accountable for providing Human Resources support for all associates and management through execution of Human Resources strategy, effective organizational design and administration of related processes, and the consultation, facilitation and resolution of employee relations matters. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: Supervise a team of direct reports Creates reporting and analysis for employment lifecycle including background checks, stay interviews, exit interviews and unemployment claims processes Represent Guitar Center in regards to unemployment hearings Act as the initial HR contact to the Support Center for employee relations and performance management matters Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees Promote and foster an environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback Shape a culture that facilitates and supports Guitar Center's goals and initiatives, by supporting and coaching managers in their implementation of core people processes (including performance management, salary review, job evaluation, tracking internal promotions and creating internal job offers) Pro-actively challenge the established organizational structure to drive superior performance. Track and manage all Support Center Performance Improvement Plans Responsible for gathering EEO claim and subpoena information requests. Help maintain compliance for any changes to employment law Maintain organizational charts utilizing OrgPlus Maintain internal communication piece regarding associate career Provide guidance to management on all policy and procedure interpretation, performance management, disciplinary counsel, conflict management, employee development, and termination Perform investigations when required, and prepare supporting written documentation Perform additional related duties as required and/or assigned To join our band you'll need the following experience: Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Human Resources Management or a related field. 6 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience) within areas such as: Employee relations/coaching Organizational system change management Compliance 2 years of experience leading teams Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Visio to maintain organizational charts. Skilled knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, investigation skills Skilled HR knowledge in EEO, FLSA, AA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation
